Overview: Our sales specialists work with business owners in townships to execute the retail plan including shelf management, fridge management, visibility, point-of-sale activity and product quality. By working with business owners, you will make our brands available and visible to township consumers, stimulating their needs and turning them into shoppers.
The role: Our sales specialists work at retail level with business owners townships in overseeing shelf and fridge management, visibility of brands and point-of-sale implementation as well as ensuring the high quality standards of our clients’ products. In this role you can expect to:
Make an allocated number of visits/calls to township outlets as per the daily and weekly call cycle completing our unique 11 step call process
Complete performance reports for each outlet per visit/call
Ensure that products are correctly priced in outlets according to recommended selling price
Place and track point-of sale equipment in the outlets including coolers
Manage the relationship with township business owners
Educate outlet owners and consumers on the brand portfolio and brand trends to influence and increase sales
Manage the availability of products in outlets to guarantee that our brands are always available to consumers
Make sure that products meet the highest quality standards at all times
Maintain the standards of the brand visibility plan in outlets by building and implementing merchandising and product display solutions
Influence consumers to try, taste and interact with brands through brand activations and promotions
Control stock levels in outlets and report trade risks (e.g. stock that is about to expire) to guarantee that our brands are always available for consumers
Monitor competitors to learn what they are doing in the township market
Identify new outlets where we are able to place our brands for more visibility.
Requirements: You will have completed grade 12 or above at school and will have at least one year of experience of working in a sales role in an FMCG environment. You will have a clear understanding of the consumer in the township market and how they make purchasing decisions as well as their reasons for purchasing brands. You will have the ability to interact with people, a natural ability to sell products and a genuine passion for brands.
